Starlight's Kids
Chris mother of CassandraHello, my name is Chris.  Cassandra, my daughter and I have been selectively breading a litter of Tibetan Terrier's every 1-2 years since 1994.  Our dogs are pets first and show dogs second. They live in our homes, go for walks with us, play with each other, and often sleep on our beds. We don’t have a kennel facility because this is not our business. These dogs are family!  All of our puppies are raised in our house and interact with people and the other dogs regularly. We are located in the  United States, West of the Mississippi.

Starlight (CH Char Su Starlight Express), a gold brindle with white, is the grand dame of our line. Our love for the golden colors continues to this day as does our love and affection for the Tibetan Terrier breed.

The Tibetan Terrier is not actually a “terrier”.  He does not have the terrier disposition, nor does he burrow into the earth as terriers were originally expected to do.  The Tibetan people called them “luck bringers” or “Holy dogs”, neither of which seemed suitable as a breed name in the Western world of dogs.  So they became known as “Tibetan Terriers”.

The Tibetan Terrier is an exceptionally healthy breed, probably as a result of the rigorous natural selection in their homeland.  The people of Tibet made no effort to eliminate any of the many colors found in this breed, believing that good health and delightful temperament were far more important than coat color.  The Tibetan Terrier is an exceptional companion and friend -- healthy, playful, intelligent, and affectionate.

The Tibetan Terrier was admitted to registration in the American Kennel Club Stud Book on May 1, 1973, and to regular show classification in the Non-Sporting Group at AKC shows on October 3, 1973.
